Winter got you pressing the snooze button?

From a friend of mine!

“Confession: Last week I ditched working out four days in a row. Why? It was cold out”

Winter has arrived and with it some stunning sunrises and sunsets around Lennox and East Ballina but it also brings the darker mornings which can be a real struggle to get used to. If this has been you and you need that extra push to get back on track, to stay motivated, to hit the mat and turn up for yourself through the winter months at Studio Lennox.

Buddy Up!

This one is a nice one. Almost every trainer I chat to says having a workout buddy is a foolproof way to stay on track with your Pilates classes and I have to agree. Having someone to meet makes your workout way more fun and means you can’t bail—win-win!

Make a plan you have to stick to

Just as with most things, setting out a plan to your goals is a great way to stay motivated.

Instead of waiting for New Year's resolutions, start now to set those goals. Whether it's to feel better about yourself, change your body or even just de-stress. Once those goals are set, create a plan to get there even if it's just adding the Pilates workouts into your calendar – it'll give those sessions more importance. Schedule in your Sculpt, Sweat and Stretch workouts, write them in your diary and pretend it's a doctor's appointment you can't miss.

Post on social media

Telling your followers and friends you’re going to exercise “keeps you accountable in a very public way.” You could be motivating someone else just by doing this one act alone. I often see friends posting they are out for a walk or workout and it it has a real positive effect on my choices for movement that day and week.

Buy new gear

You really don’t have to ask me twice on whether I like to buy activewear or not! I love it, and I love when I update some pieces. I recently bought some p.e nation leggings (on sale thank you iconic) and I love wearing them, this enhances my mood, making going to class easier. Sounds simple because it is x

I hope this has given you some inspiration to get to your workouts this Winter! You mind and body will thank you for it.

See you on the mat xx
